Short Film

This is my first ever short film which I directed, shot and edited. Just a note though, this is pure fiction and does not represent some twisted desires of my real self. LOL. Enjoy!!!
Oops, don't forget to leave feedback. :)

My Oil Paintings

I have always had a passion for art in all forms and ironically, I never took any formal art education. I don't know, I guess I like learning things myself and rely on my own creative intuition. I've done art ever since I was a kid in grade school from lettering, drawing, sketching and later on graphic designing, sewing, photography, videography, video editing and painting. Oil painting takes a lot of your time though so I've done only quite a few. I'm currently working on abstract painting which a good friend of mine had introduced me, it's called Pixel painting. For now, I wanna share with you the paintings I have done. Hope you like it. :)

Questions I can't find an answer for...

1.
Can you really lose the love of your life and never find another love of equal passion? Is it true that true love happens only once in life?
2. What is more important, Faith or Religion? Can one have faith without religion?
3. What is the meaning of all existence?
4. Is our destiny created or chosen by God? Is everything pre-determined from the beginning of time?
5. If there's really hell, then how do you reconcile God's infinite love and forgiveness with eternal punishment?
6. Why some people are born into fortunate circumstances and some are not?

My Music Video

Since I was young, I already have an immense creative mind and great passion for acting and writing. I could still remember myself writing drama-love stories and rewriting scripts of movies, commercials, talk shows and even beauty pageants at the age of 10! Weird? Well honestly, I think it's quite cool than playing "bahay-bahayan" or "taguan". Alright, so me and my cousins would re-enact the scripts I wrote (Yeah, I direct and act too, kulang sa actors eh! lol!) Sayang lang coz di pa uso ang camcorder or digital cameras before, I could have filmed it sana.. and post them on youtube! (Ooops, I don't think may youtube na din noon! lol!) Thanks to the digital technology it is now easier to create, store, and produce videos... and of course the web, which make it easier to publish and share it online with hardly any effort. At least now, I could live my dream of becoming a Director, Scriptwriter, Cinematographer, Actor, Film Editor and Production Artist (dami ba?, ilan pa lang ito sa dream ko honestly! lol)

Alright...... so now I'm presenting to you guys my first music video (but instead of MV as Music Video, I've called it My Version).. I've just inserted video clips of me and my hubby playin with the camera, so bear with the shaky video clips. I don't have any other actors to play Chris Brown here.. so don't expect my hubby lip synching ayt? (He hates acting.)
Enjoy! You may leave comments here.

My Hairstyles

When I was a kid I really never went to a salon for a hair cut. My Mom always cut my hair herself at home until I was about thirteen ... and yeah, she always cut it short!! And since my adolescent years, I have always kept my hair long. As far as I remember I got my hair cut short only thrice. I always believe that havin a long hair really demonstrates the true power of femininity and the soul of a woman (yeah it's so stereotype, I know! anyhow...) Of course it also increases women's attractiveness in part. Admit it boys! Lol! Oh well, that's just my opinion and besides, I look better with long hair so I'm gonna keep it this way!

Okay so these are the ways I do to keep my hair lookin great:

1. Personally, over the years I was taught to wash my hair every day. But recently I've learned that daily washing could really dry your hair out. So now I wash it every other day and I swear, my hair looks better like never before!
2. After shower, I don't rub my hair with towel neither twist or wring it (this causes breakage to your hair) I let the excess water drain out of my hair and I squeeze it "gently" just to remove more of the water. Then I comb my hair with a wide tooth comb..
3. I don't blow dry my hair! I always dry it in front of an electric fan. Yeah, even in winter!

Anyways, these are some of my hairstyles.. some were badly done though :-s

I Love New York

After a few fun filled moments at Times Square the other night, the next day me and my friends went to see different places in New York.

Well first of, I just wanna show you guys some of my pics. at the Grand Central Terminal when we first arrived in New York. Here you can take tours, dine in fine restaurants, and shop in some interesting stores. It is a terminal station at 42nd Street and Park Ave. in Midtown Manhattan In New York City... the largest train station in the world by number of platforms.

Rockefeller Center

The Rockefeller Center complex was built during the Great Depression, providing much needed work for New Yorkers, as well as reflecting the art deco styling popular during the time. Rockefeller Center was revolutionary at the time introducing the idea of incorporating art work throughout, parking garages, and centralized heating.

Central park

Central Park plays an essential role in the everyday lives of New Yorkers by providing 843 acres of paths, lakes and open spaces for escaping the din and chaos of the surrounding city. When Central Park first opened in the winter of 1859 it was the first artificially landscaped park in the United States.

Central Park: Strawberry Fields - Imagine Mosaic

The mosaic in the the form of an Hindu-style mandala is a memorial to John Lennon in the area in Central Park renamed Strawberry Fields. He and Yoko Ono lived just a few steps away in the Dakota Building. People regularly leave apples at the centre of the mosaic.

St. Patrick's Cathedral

A Ginormous Catholic house of worship. It was decorated Neo-Gothic style and the seat of the archbishop of the Roman catholic Archdiocese of new York and a parish church, located on the east side of Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan.

American Museum of Natural History

Since opening to the public in 1869, the American Museum of Natural History has evolved and grown. In addition to the Rose Center planetarium and regular exhibits, the American Museum of Natural History hosts a revolving series of new exhibits, so there is always something new to see.

The Dakota

The building is best known as the home of former Beatle John Lennon and his wife starting in 1973, and as the location of Lennon's assassination. It is directly across from Strawberry Fields where John Lennon's "Imagine" mosaic is located.

We had our lunch in this Filipino Buffet Restaurant..

Our last stop in NY was at the H&M Fashion store in midtown Manhattan for some clothes shopping. This store is big (3 levels) and there is a lot to see. Super-trendy clothes, and cheap prices.

Oh well, there's still a lot of places to go in New York but time is not on our side as we need to go back home in Rhode Island. Thanks to Angie who is my companion from Rhode Island to Connecticut to New York. Lol! I had fun staying with you for a night at the hotel in Connecticut.. You're the best Angie! Big thanks to Ate Vicky for cooking for us (I love your Adobo and leche flan!) and letting us stay in your wonderful house in Bronx, NY. And of course to Ate Len who picked us up at Grand Central Terminal, a very kind and funny hot mama who always have stories to tell.. lol! Thank you Bituing Marikit!!
I'm gonna miss you!! Hope to see you guys again soon!

My trip to New Jersey for the Philippine Fiesta

Last August 16, '08 I've attended the Philippine Fiesta at Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, New Jersey with my friend Angie. It’s an expo designed to give US businesses a chance to reach the growing Filipino-American market, and for Filipino businesses to showcase their products. There's also a Food Court featuring Filipino dishes, beauty contest, entertainment and a cultural festival like Santacruzan.
So we got to the Expo Center around 3pm and boy, it's the biggest gathering of Filipinos in the US I've ever seen!
No wonder it was billed as the “Largest Gathering of Filipino Americans in the East Coast”. It was great to see the familiar Filipino smile and hearing people speaking in Tagalog.
So we headed right away to the meet and greet with Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes (currently lead actors of the television drama series "Dyesebel" of GMA- Pinoy TV) and I had the chance of meeting "Marianknights International" (fans club of Marian Rivera). As expected, a big crowd outside this room were waiting to get inside. Well, it's supposedly exclusive for VIP ticket holders, but there are also people there with general admission tickets who were trying their luck to get inside. Oh yeah, it's total chaos! A lot of arguments and shouting with the security officers of Philippine Fiesta who should go in first, yada yada. Thanks to Ate Rhoda (who is the coordinator of Marianknights Int'l) and we were the first group to get inside. Yey!

Okay, so after almost 2 hrs. of waiting inside.. (as usual, Filipino time eh!) finally we were able to meet Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. Marian Rivera has a very striking mestiza beauty while Dingdong Dantes is tall, fair and heartbreakingly handsome! No wonder he is undeniably one of the most eligible celebrity bachelors in the Philippines today. Naks!

So after the meet and greet we decided to have dinner first, then watched the show.
Bea Alonzo was the first one to perform and sang two songs.
Other performers were Divo Bayer, Ray Kilay, Poco Bhelle, Surban Seven and of course Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.
They both sang and as expected, Marian danced to "So sexy"
from her platinum selling dance album. They really look great together!

After the show we headed to T.G.I Fridays at Times Square, New York. Oh boy, we had so much fun there exchanging stories, reminiscing about special moments with Marian and Dingdong during the meet and greet... yada yada... It was past 2AM when we decided to leave Fridays and explore Times Square (home of MTV, Virgin Records, Good Morning America, Morgan Stanley, The New York Times, Reuters, etc.). Though it's terribly crowded, I really enjoyed gazing at the light show and snapping a lot of colorful pictures. Times Square is really a great place to visit if you're in the city. Very energetic at night!

After our big round of group and solo pictures around 3 AM or so, we all headed off in various directions. Reluctantly sayin goodbye to all of these wonderful people that I couldn't believe I had only known in person for a few hours, we headed off to go home to Bronx, New York.
I know I didn't get a chance to talk with everyone there, but I'll never forget everyone I did manage to meet. It's indeed a very fun and exciting experience!

Are you deeply involved with fashion?

Is fashion just all about fancy clothes, latest trends, styles, glamour? There’s much more to it than this!!
In my opinion, being deeply involved with fashion is not bad. It can bring you happiness, increase your self-esteem and may as well develop your creativity. And of course everyone knows first impressions are everything. The only hazard you should watch out for are: if you’re only concerned about outward appearances and start judging people by what they wear… if you get embarrassed by what your family or friends are wearing (if they don’t suit your taste in fashion)… if you choose people you would hang out with based on what they wear… and worse, if you’re spendin so much money coz you feel pressure to always buy the latest trendy clothes! If you’re like this, then you are imprisoned by fashion and and it becomes a controlling factor in your life. Now that’s bad!!

Keep this in mind... You define yourself by what you are, not by what you’re not. Clothing and styles aren’t everything. Yes, what you wear matters to most people, but not always in a good way. People do not look at your outfit and conclude what your personality may be like.. most will just compare you against the societal norms, then judge you. Just be yourself. Enhance your natural beauty and features. Rule your fashion by understanding yourself and what you want…it’s your decision. Don’t limit yourself to the latest trend. Be flexible!

Last day in Los Angeles, CA

I have a heavy heart wakin up on my last day in Los Angeles. We went to Goldilocks in Anaheim for our lunch. I know it's corny but you don't have any idea how extremely happy I am to eat in a Filipino Restaurant with Filipino business owners, employees and customers coz there's only a very few Pinoys I know in Rhode Island. Anyways, we ordered Pritong bangus, Sisig, Kare-kare, Barbeque, Calamares, Chicharong bulaklak, tokwa't baboy and a lot more.. ika nga.. "Last supper" daw sigh! I've never been so stuffed in my entire stay in the US.. dito lang!! Truly unforgettable!

After lunch at Goldilocks we headed to the mall to watch a movie and have a little shopping. We ended up watching Hell Boy II. As per my hubby's request.. lol. I dozed off during the first few minutes of the film.. hehe! Anyways, it's pretty funny so I liked it na din. After the movie we went to the food court to eat snacks.. Pinoy eh, uso snacks! But I'm still stuffed from eatin at Goldilocks so I just ordered hotdogs.
And so we bid goodbye to Net, JT and Cha coz they need to go home na. While me, my hubby, Che and Claire headed to Hollywood.

Wax Museum

with Jack the Sparrow :-D

Hollywood Walk of Fame.. Bruce Willis

at Grauman's Theater

After a fun and exciting tour around Hollywood, as much as I would like to extend the day... Che and Claire had to drop us off to the airport. It's pretty quiet inside the car on our way to LAX....
I really hate goodbyes! Sigh! Then comes....

And so we said our final good-byes and headed back out to Rhode Island. ;-(

My trip to California was definitely one of the best experiences of my life.

I would like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU Net, Che, Claire, JT, Cha and Lorns for a very wonderful friendship. I know we're gonna see each other again and it's not really goodbye... but SEE YOU SOON !! Love you guys!!

My trip to Los Angeles, CA (Part 2)

After Disneyland we went to Venice Beach the next day. When we arrived in Venice we drove around and tried to find street parking for free, but since it's summer... as expected, there's no more free parking. We ended up parking blocks away. But it's fine though coz we enjoyed lookin at the unique designs of the houses on our walk to the beach. Venice beach is a sandy 3 mile beach and dozens of movies and hundreds of television shows (like Beverly Hills 90210 and Baywatch) have used Venice as location. And though it's summer, oh boy was it chilly down there! I saw a wide variety of people.. vendors lined up for blocks down the sidewalks selling art, pictures, jewelry, etc. And the beach?? Jeeze! the waves were pretty strong! But it wouldn't be fun if I won't swim... so hell yeah... I've conquered the waves! lol!

It was past 5pm when we decided to leave Venice beach.. I'm already exhausted coz the waves at the beach were pretty strong... there was a point where I can't swim anymore. It's like I've spent a whole day in the gym! LOL!
So after an hour travel we finally got back to our hotel rooms and took a shower and then we all went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. I'm stuffed as we step out the resto! it must be the calamari!

After dinner, we went to this Korean Karaoke place in Anaheim, CA and sang our hearts out! lol!

So this is how we ended our 2nd day out in Los Angeles.. See you guys on the last part. c,")

My trip to Los Angeles, CA (part 1)

So after San Francisco, me and my hubby flew to Los Angeles to meet my friends. We all checked in at Ramada Limited Suites in Anaheim, CA (just less than 2 miles from Disneyland). It really feels great to finally put some faces with the words we've been reading over and over on the YT stream for months. A get together we've been waiting for the past few months. Finally!!
We ate Filipino food, drunk some beers, laughed a lot, exchange stories and took videos and pictures in our hotel room. Before hitting the bed we decided to take a walk along Katella Avenue. These are the times I just wish there's more than 24 hrs. a day :-(

The next day I woke up at 6am and guess what? Yeah, they're still all asleep! They played Tong its daw kasi the other night! Lol! I was just so exhausted last night so I went straight to bed as soon as we got back to the hotel. Anyways, so we had breakfast first then left the hotel at about 9:00 AM. We were going to hit Disneyland on our first day out in LA. Yey!!

When we got through the gates of Disneyland we immediately took pictures and were headed toward Main Street.

We went to Indiana Jones Adventure in ADVENTURELAND; Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion in NEW ORLEANS SQUARE; Snow White's Scary Adventures in FANTASYLAND; walk through MICKEY'S TOON TOWN; Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Star Tours and Honey I Shrunk the Audience in TOMORROWLAND.

Around 3PM we watched the Disney Dreams Come True Parade. This is the daily parade at the Magic Kingdom. It was wonderful to see all the original Disney Characters. The parade was choreographed with a number of characters that have been absent from the park for a long time like Peter Pan and Wendy, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and Bert, Ariel and Eric and the rest of the princesses. The Floats are extremely beautiful. It's 15 minutes well spent!

You can see the Disney Dreams Come True Parade by checking out the video below!

AT around 5Pm we all decided to take a spot for the Disney Fireworks. Yeah we were all tired and kinda exhausted (obvious ba sa pic? lol)

After like more than 3 hrs. of waiting.. the long wait is over. BTW, the Fireworks show was almost postponed coz it's too windy that night. Thank God, He didn't allow that to happen LOL! This is one thing that not all of my friends knows... I'm always fascinated with fireworks and by just watchin it makes me cry! True!! And this is definitely one of the best fireworks show I've ever seen! It really made my day!

You can see the Disney Fireworks Show in full by checking out the videos below! Enjoy!!

My trip to Alcatraz in San Francisco

My trip to Alcatraz Video

History:
Alcatraz Island is a small island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay in California, USA. It served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963. It became a national recreation area in 1972 and received landmarking designations in 1976 and 1986.

I had the opportunity to go to Alcatraz when I went to San Francisco just this July '08. They say if you travel to SFO then you have to visit Alcatraz. I'm so intrigue with this infamous and notorious former federal prison. So I went there with my hubby and 2 friends (who doesn't know the exact location coz it was their first time too visiting the place.) It's funny coz we thought we parked the car close to Pier 33 (where Alcatraz Cruises operates ferries to Alcatraz Island) but the next thing we know, we've already walked 3 miles to get there! Good thing I booked tickets online so we headed right away to the boarding line and guess what? We were the last to board! Yes! We make it on time!

So the the ferry ride is pleasant.. smooth and fun. We decided to just stay on the main dock, where you can see closely the waves of the bay. It was pretty chilly too and my bad i didn't bring sweats coz i thought it's gonna be hot since it was summer that time. So we kept ourselves busy takin pictures and videos and didn't pay attention to the narrator on board. hehe! The trip from Pier 33 to the Alcatraz dock is pretty short.. before we know it, we've reached the island! Bitin!! Lol!

When we arrived on the island, the guide started with a historical walk up to the prison. They have
a microphone so everyone can hear and we had a chance to look at the areas where the prison guards stayed. As usual, while the guide was talkin, we're takin bunch of pics and videos! Lol! It is a steep walk though up to the prison. Once inside, everyone received headphones and MP3 guided audio. The audio tour of the jail house is awesome coz you get to walk around and hear the stories of the old inmates. We get to walk around the ground floor and see the library, eating area, shower room, recreation ground, look through perspex at the kitchen, and walk through the officers rooms. It definitely did give me some creepy feelings as I listen to the audio and walk around the cells, stopping to inform you of interesting facts. The audio make it so real that you would think you went back to their time. Seeing the cells where the 1962 escapes took place is really an amazing experience! At the end of the tour we went to the shop to check out some souvenirs. But we didn't buy. Lol!

Overall, we stayed on Alcatraz Island for 2 hrs. And as we wait for our ferry to bring us back to Pier 33... as usual.. we took bunch of pictures!! Lol!

I find the trip to Alcatraz very educational and indeed a fabulous experience!

Here are some more photos I've taken........
